This dataset contains detailed information about energy communities in mainland Portugal. It consists of the following elements: date, year, month, district, municipality, parish, type of community (ACC or CER), and the number of registrations.
The data is obtained from internal sources of E-REDES, which monitors the formation and development of energy communities. It is updated monthly.
The fields that make up the dataset are:
Year: Year to which the information refers
Month: Month to which the information refers
District: District where the energy community is located
County: County where the energy community is located
Parish: Parish where the energy community is located
ACC/CER Type: Type of energy community, which can be Collective Self-Consumption (ACC) or Renewable Energy Community (CER)
ACC/CER Type Count: Number of registered energy communities
This data allows:
- Monitoring the growth and geographic distribution of energy communities in mainland Portugal.
- Facilitating analysis and research on the effectiveness and impact of renewable energy policies.
- Providing important information on regional energy trends.
- Assisting in identifying areas with the greatest potential for new energy community initiatives.
- Contributing to transparency and public information on sustainable development and innovation in the energy sector.
Note: Communities may be located within parish boundaries, encompassing more than one parish. In these cases, the community will be counted in both parishes.

Given that connection points, the electricity distribution network, and consumption and production values themselves are naturally highly dynamic, please note that the information provided may be subject to subsequent changes and updates.
